As of yesterday Windows 7 went on pre-order for release late October

Windows 7 Professional-E is £89.99 pre-order at PCworld, Currys, Dixons and Comet

Windows 7 Home Premium-E is £49.99 pre-order at the above places

Pre-order is upto the 9th August I think.

Thats not a bad price and I could probably get away with running the Home Premium version (not sure I would use the extra's Professoinal gives)

Thought's???

Hi Eagle, I am running legit Vista32 here at the moment. I might think about W7 next year, 64bit of course. All versions come with 64bit or 32bit I think.

Lets see ms iron out some of the early bugs first.

Yeah I've seen those specs Hammer which is why I said I'm not sure I'd need Professional just for those few extra's.

Unless there's other extra's they haven't listed

Don't know if I should pre order the Home Premium @£49.99 some places have sold out and it's now £74.99, or wait until a few of my favourite sites have a working copy to try :whis: I haven't even tried the RC yet so I don't know what the feel of the OS is like.
It would probably be an advantage on my new hardware.

I did install the beta for a bit, seemed to me they were trying to make it windows for idiots. Big icons, press here, its all so easy etc. Nothing new and groundbreaking I noticed. But I am a mac user, prolly explains it.

Did I see that right? Does it mean no xp mode unless you get pro version? This should be explained in more detail.

Well after seeing some of the places go Sold Out I decided to order it.

I got Home Premium-E for 44.99 pre-order at PC World.

Card doesn't get charged until just before despatch either.

That's the first Windows I've purchased since I bought Win 98SE. :drib:
