As a few of you already know i'm having just a few problems with Virgin ADSL
I've been looking around for a month or so trying to pick another ISP for when i finally work the MAC out of them without forkin a fee for the effort. Only 1 i've come up with that looks half decent is ADSL24 which only has a months contract on it so they've got themselves some confidence.. also their on the enta network i believe.

Anyone had any experience with?
Who are you with?
Whats the cost?
Fixed speed or upto 8Mb?
what are the pings like?
Is there a download cap? if so how much?

Please help theres so much to look for :(

I am with Be There or Be Unlimited. The speed depends how far you are from the exchange. Me, I am approx 1km away and get between 7 & 8 mb connection. Has been solid since the first week when it was too fast and they had to throttle it a bit to stop the router from fryin.

I up at 60 24/7 dl at up to 800+.

£24 a month

Oh, when I game I slow my upload to 30 and dl to same no ping probs.

Currently with Entanet, work pay for it as were a reseller, but its £35 + VAT per month being a business package

24/7 support, Im on the ADSL Max Premium package, sync at 8120 down and 832 up and I get the full 8mb most days, also a 20:1 contention ratio, my download limits are
45GB peak time and 300GB offpeak

So far not had any real issues.

I'm with Sky on their "Max" package and pay £10 (I use their TV service anyway).

I sync at 8190 and 764, so 8mb down.

All good so far.
I'm backkkk!!!!

They've been fantastic for me for the last couple of years, I won't be switching ISP anytime soon.

I'm still with Zen....not jinxed them yet Ginge ;)

I am getting close to my 50GB d/l limit every month. Speeds can be misleading as it's all down to the BT wires and exchange although I am surprised to see peeps getting the full 8MB on ADSLMax...do you live in the exchange? Even BT say that in practice 7.2 is the most you will ever get. I'm supposed to be 5.5MB but don't think in practice it works out that well, but with 4 PC's in the house it's difficult to tell  .

1.5Km from exchange

Item Downstream Upstream Unit
SNR Margin 10 27 dB
Line Attenuation 33 21 dB
Data Rate 8128 448 kbps

Sync rate is as high as it can go and i think my profile is 7000 but they predicted 6500 on line tests.

Test Complete - 3.00 MB file downloaded in 3.741 seconds
Download Rate Format
6569.37 Kbps (kilobits per second)
821.17 KBps (kilobytes per second)
6.42 Mbps (megabits per second)
0.8 MBps (megabytes per second)

Good day :)

But back to topic I cant get 'Be' here already looked into them but think its probably even more likely to give trouble in the long run, ADSL2/2+ is surposed to be a bit more touchy from what i've read.

Been thinking about Zen, Madman just yelled NOOOOOOOOO at the mention of Pipex so guess their off the board. As for Enta I think their stricktly wholesale, ADSL24 iI still thinks kinda interesting n no real tie in's and still on Enta network but i think everywhere has some kind of cap these days :(

possibles: Zen & ADSL24 :D

Thanks for all your help
