Well after eternal woes I tried out the following

Took my gaming rig and put 2gb ram in (A64 3800) and tried both xp and Vista media centre, and got the same results with both, missing channels, although vista picked up the channels I'd get the no TV signal screen after a few seconds.

Installed the PCTV software that came with the card and "voila" all the channels and everything worked a treat! Ran it all night and everything was perfect!!!!! However the interface is like looking at a dogs arse after its just had a curry  and the settings were not enough to make it a usuable interface. Not to mention you had to PAY for the EPG !!!

So I know its not the card or the PC but the Windows Media Centre........ It also just so happens a friend of my dads was selling a twin freeview HD recorder dirt cheap so I've bought that for my TV pleasure and installed my celeron box with basic XP and Divx player to watch my films with winamp to play my music......

Now all I need is some recommendations for a wireless mouse and keyboard that will work from 12ft away :2t:

Nice one, but dont give up all hope on media center, it will work one day, and when it does, it'll be better than what you're using, you mark my words :)

As for a keyboard, you can't beat the microsoft media keyboard with integrated mouse.

expensive though
