Right I've made progress however I'm still having problems. I have the aerial pointed in exactly the right direction and I'm less than 2 miles from the transmitter. I've got some dogs wotsits connectors and cable from the wall socket to the PC and I have a fantastic analogue and digital signal (Freeview box indicator).
When I do a search for channels I get all the available freeview channels and also radio channels etc.
Now when I watch the TV after some 20+ mins I get the "No TV signal" screen appear and not much short of a reboot will sort out the problem and that is intermittent, quite often rescanning the channels is called for to get the signal back again
Will check when I get home, dont think its anything special just a 1.7 or a 2.4, cant remember, think the P4 was 1.7 n the celeron D 2.2, might have been the other way round tho..

I'm only running a athy xp 2400+ (1.8ghz).
Never had an issue like that.
Does it have any other issues?
Tried searching for updated tv card drivers? beta drivers?
I've found a few references to Min Spec for the Tuner card to be a 2ghz P4 however this is not an official source. The drivers seem to be somewhat of a problem. I'm going to try a fresh install tonight of XP and do all the updates and then just a clean MCE install and then add the card and try a the very basic drivers to see if I can find a conflict.

Hmm, i see it's the pinnacle one.
I've ordered this for my new setup and it's arriving on thursday.
It definitely has a different set of drivers for use in MCE
I've just done a full reinstall with just the drivers off the cd as per the instructions from the pinnacle knowledgebase (now theres a good read...... not!)however after it initially worked after returning to the first menu and clicking "Live TV" it decided there was no driver present. At that point I decided to switch it off before I put my foot thru the TV. I'll try again tonight

You can simply install the drivers from the folder “Driversâ€
I've read on the net conflicting reports.
1. Drivers from CD
2. MCE driver from Pinnacle and drivers from CD
3. Windows update drivers and MCE driver from Pinnacle
4. Windows update drivers only
Strange stuff!!!! Will have a play tonight and see where I get.
