Right I've made progress however I'm still having problems. I have the aerial pointed in exactly the right direction and I'm less than 2 miles from the transmitter. I've got some dogs wotsits connectors and cable from the wall socket to the PC and I have a fantastic analogue and digital signal (Freeview box indicator).
When I do a search for channels I get all the available freeview channels and also radio channels etc.

Now when I watch the TV after some 20+ mins I get the "No TV signal" screen appear and not much short of a reboot will sort out the problem and that is intermittent, quite often rescanning the channels is called for to get the signal back again :(

Any ideas?

Looks like it will support upgrades, what P4 chip you got Trig?

It looks like it will take a 2.2 - 2.6Ghz P4

I'm only running a athy xp 2400+ (1.8ghz).
Never had an issue like that.

Does it have any other issues?

Tried searching for updated tv card drivers? beta drivers?

I've found a few references to Min Spec for the Tuner card to be a 2ghz P4 however this is not an official source. The drivers seem to be somewhat of a problem. I'm going to try a fresh install tonight of XP and do all the updates and then just a clean MCE install and then add the card and try a the very basic drivers to see if I can find a conflict.

what is the card?
What drivers are you using? There should be some MCE specific ones or it wont work

I think this sounds more like driver problems.

Also make sure you've got the last gfx drivers. If Nvidia, there are again specific mce ones

Hmm, i see it's the pinnacle one.
I've ordered this for my new setup and it's arriving on thursday.

It definitely has a different set of drivers for use in MCE

I've just done a full reinstall with just the drivers off the cd as per the instructions from the pinnacle knowledgebase (now theres a good read...... not!)however after it initially worked after returning to the first menu and clicking "Live TV" it decided there was no driver present. At that point I decided to switch it off before I put my foot thru the TV. I'll try again tonight

Is that the same socket as the 2.0 Ghz one? if so I'll have it and how much you want for it?

Its the socket 478 chap, the little tiny ones lol
Use CPUID to find out what your current CPU is, that should tell you what socket type it is.

Acording to this, you dont need any additional drivers.

Just a certified MPEG-2 decoder.

QUOTE

dditional information for users of DVB-T-only hardware (PCTV 60e, PCTV 200e, PCTV Dual DVB-T Diversity Stick 2000e, PCTV Dual DVB-T Pro PCI 2000i, PCTV DVB-T PCI 250i, PCTV DVB-T Pro USB 260e): For usage of these tuners in Windows MCE Media Center, no specific installer is required. You can simply install the drivers from the folder “Driversâ€

I've read on the net conflicting reports.
1. Drivers from CD
2. MCE driver from Pinnacle and drivers from CD
3. Windows update drivers and MCE driver from Pinnacle
4. Windows update drivers only

Strange stuff!!!! Will have a play tonight and see where I get.
