Random Disconnects

Any idea why i've been getting randomly disconnected from some servers tonight?

Nelly the one I joined you on earlier was terrible, every 5-10mins disconnected back to main menu.

Also whats quickest way to get rank? Wouldnt mind unlocking some new weapons.

Hi inoshishi, the ways to get rank are to score highly and earn loads of points.
You can also get unlocks by buying I think euroforce/armored fury addons.

Check your pings mate, I get kicked by servers when my ping goes over about 120. New isp now so hopefully pings will be low.

Ping is usually under 50 so I guess thats ok, although didn't check it on that server earlier, that could explain it

Being the Games Meister you are you prolly already know and use this... but I'm wondering if your connection problem was down to punkbuster and that you may want to update manually using this little but useful app...

Being a medic may be your quickest route to progressing through the ranks as not only are you getting fighting points but also getting points for helping your team mates. In addition to this you increase your survivability because of being able to treat yourself.

Playing commander is another option because at the end of a game, and your side wins, your points are doubled. On saying this, there are many servers out there that don't like the commander to fight at all.

In game, you can take the gear of any player that gets killed... this would give you some temporary playing power because of the better hardware thus boosting your career points somewhat too.

There is also another possibility, some people have experienced drop outs or BF2 crashing and its when the VOIP option is enabled with in the game.

If you use TS, you shouldnt need this enabled.

I've also just grabbed a nifty utility called ModJive <a href="http://modjive.com/" target="_blank">http://modjive.com/</a>

Not sure if you guys have tried it or not, basically it downloads, updates and installs Mods for BF2, I've just grabbed about 5 different ones so will try them this afternoon.
