I just recently dug out my old Aiptek Hyperpen 6000 graphics tablet (PS/2) to touch up an image. I've downloaded the latest drivers from Aiptek's webby.

The problem is the hopping and skipping... until I eventually negotiate the point where I want to start 'drawing' the pointer is all over the place.

It's nothing to do with the mouse as I had taken that out of the formula early on in the problem.

I pondered the possibility of my wireless LAN, Keyboard, (even my mob phone!) etc, causing interference... but this can't be the case as once the pen is down and drawing it's just fine.

I've tried it with a few art packages such as The Gimp 2, PSP , all the decent ones and it's still happens.

Any thoughts? Do you think the tablet/pen (new battery in pen) is goosed?
