I don't know if this is the right place but, As some of you may know I got a PSP no that long ago. Well I Have a 1Gb Sony high speed Memory Stick Pro Duo and I have just bought a 4Gb Memory Stick Pro Duo and the difference in speed is crazy the High Speed is very much faster than the normal. I mate of mine has got a scan disk and that is even faster. Whats that crack with that. Really.

moving 500Mb on the 1Gb HS Memory Stick Pro Duo takes about 2.5 minutes.
moving the same in the 4gb Memory Stick Pro Duo takes about 7 minutes.

Both of the above are rough and done using USB 2.

It's pretty similar in the CF card market, later revisions have become faster and faster as time has moved on. I'd imagine it's just to do with the silicon that they use for the chips and the methods of writing and reading the data.
