Fortunately, my old card is supported in vista, so no worries for the minute.

My new vista install blue screened the first time i tried windows update yet again.

And for the record, a Geforce 7100GS gets a worse score in vista than my radeon 9700 (non pro).

Well balls to vista!
Now it wont recognise my old tuner card!
doesn't even show up in device manager (i'm wondering if i've fudged it)

And the nvidia vista drivers are rubbish, they don't support custom resolutions yet which means i cant set the res to my tv's native resolution.

Plus the standard MS soundcard drivers dont support dolby 5.1 or Spdif out which means i needed to fanny around even more finding the correct drivers for the soundcard.

I'm glad I've not purchased a copy yet!!!!

I'm convinced that my channel problem is part of the install procedure as there is an MS update that cures this very problem however my system will not let me install it saying that I don't have the correct version.

This would explain as to why I used top be able to get the channels but am now unable since I used the Student version of XP to enable me to get the updates.

I'm really losing enthusiasm for this now but need to get it sorted by next week when they take away my telewest box :(

If you didn't have the pinnacle card, i'd say give vista a go.
The other problems can be worked around, the pinnacle card is the only thing holding me back.

Any way you can send it back, get a different card and give vista a try?

I've had for about a month now and got it from a shop on Ebay. I'm seriously considering getting a different card to try and then ebay the pinnacle one!

Aye thats the conclusion I've come to as well. Wheres the cheapest you have seen it????

I think I'm going to ebay my pinnacle card and get the NovaT500 and a legit copy of Vista, just got to try the RTM first to make sure all the onboard stuff works and I'm sorted!

£69 was from mediapc.tv but i'm sure you could get it cheaper off eBay.

I'm going to persevere with the pinnacle card i think, my tv still has it's own tuner, i just cant record.

Wouldn't bother buying vista either really. See my post in privvy

Buy a dreambox and hookit up to your telewest cable. It will still be live as you still have BB with them :D

I'm restricted to the channels I can get at the moment. My TV box has gone so I'm waiting for a time that Jo is out for a few hours so I can try a new install if they ever bring out the new drivers. If not I'm going to be changing the card for the Nova T 500 jobbie. Seems to be much less issues with that one!!
