Hiya Dak, this place gives most info you will ever need about opening ports for torrents. I got mine sorted there from a very good tut.
First of all Utorrent and Azureus Both use a encryption, I don't know about Bittorrent. NellyBoy's link is really good for sorting out Portforwarding which will most likey help. Also Public Tracker websites always give low speeds, Private Trackers are alot better. I don't know if TV Torrents is a private or public.
Also, you should have decentralised tracking disabled in your client. If enabled your ratio will only increase very slowly because you are uploading to people who do not belong to the tracker site. For my two main torrent sites this must be disabled as a rule of membership.
