Hardware has never really been my forte, Now I have at the moment a P4 HT 3.2 and a nameless Mother board. I need to upgrade but I really don't want to spend over £200.

I really don't have any needs with the MoBo or proccessor. But it will need to be able to take at least 4 Hard Drives and 2 DVD Drives. And it will take me a bit of time to get the money together so no deal of the weeks please.

Please help me source a desent/cheap upgrade that will give me a least a 2 year life span before I need to upgrade again.

As it looks, from the gist of what you say, you really only need to upgrade your MoBo. Just make sure that what you get is compatible with the CPU you have, which is still a healthy spec I'd say.

The thing is that if you make too big a jump you may also need to think about memory too. I'll have a look at some boards in a bit... and as you know, the guys here will start reeling stuff off for you too... hang tight. :)

Alternatively, you could wait until you have the money, as what you can't afford now you'll be able to in a few months time easily due to the ever changing prices in the market, etc...
Just be a nutter... life becomes much more exciting, and people won't expect anything more of you...

AB9 Pro (£92)
Cheap S755 CPU, unless your current chip is S775? (£59 P4D 820)
Some of my DDR2 RAM, £20 a stick (512Mb)

I'm on the AB9 Pro and its got loads of SATA on it.

You didnt mention your gfx card, ab9 pro is PCI-E, you on AGP?
Whats the current spec of your box?

I had thought that the P4D chips where a bit shit, I may be wrong as I said hardware is not my thing.
Current Spec:

P4 HT 3.2 GHz Prescott
2 GB RAM Corsair DDR 1 *In 4 512 Sticks*
6800 GT 256Mb PCI-E * I can't remember the Core and Memory Speeds but they run around about the Ultra speeds*
2 X 200 Sata 1 Seagate bara
Sound Blaster Live 24-Bit

The motherboard and Proccessor are getting to be about 2 1/2 -3 years old now.

I think that this is all you will need if there is anything else just ask.

To my shame I bought a prebuild machine from a not very good on-line company. So the motherboard is a NIC motherboard. As I am in Work I can't check.

So the P4D Good for, I mainly play games on the Desktop PC that I am thinking about upgrading and use the bitch Box for downloading and it is running on WIN2K.
