Hey im trying to formatt a sata hd but every time i try i get the message unable to find hard disk. The hard disk is in SATA_RAID1 in the motherboard unable to find any disks which would help me

The motherboard is an

ASUS A7N8X-E

any ideas please help

Is the Hard Disk in good working order, to your knowledge? When was it last known to be working?

Download the manual and check the jumper configuration on page 2-17, then read through pages 5-13 to 5-15 for instructions on setting up RAID.

Where are you trying to format it from?
On installation?
If so you need to press F6 when booting and insert the floppy that came with the board with the SATA drivers on and then install whichever one relates to your board.

As trig says, when are you trying to format it?
If it's at windows install, you need to press f6 and install the raid drivers (if the bios is up to date, you shouldn't need sata drivers).

Is the drive already in an array? you'll need to go into the raid bios from the post screen and take it out of the array.
