Everybody knows the hardware costs literally a few dollars. The problen is the margins to be made. Will google suffer a small margin to bring this to the masses of the world? I think they will to steal a lead on the competition. If Shanzai can throw together netbooks and mobiles overnight for very little layout this little venture will be cheaper than the coffee bill for google HQ.

Google will make their margin with their online based Documents if that what is comes down to. If they can interest corporations to adopt their roaming accessibility to everything via 'net access reducing a company's dependence for having it's own servers, mailed document distributions, etc, companies would be very happy to pay Google for the privilege of using their facilities.
