Thanks for that Hammer, tempting it is mate. I got no more money for a couple of months now so will have to be a real bargain.

I'm looking to get a Q9550 aswell, want to replace my Xeon 3060 with a nice quad.

Looks like ebuyer have the E0 stepping ones which clock better.

That's a fair bit more than Scan at £166.51 admittedly they won't guarantee what stepping you'll get, but even the C1 stepping at Ebuyer is over £200.
For that sort of money I'd be tempted to get the equivalent Xeon chip as they're normally better chips and at only £204.90 on Scan seems a decent option (not sure if all xeon's are E0 stepping or some such)

I'd say whatever chip you get its probably a good idea NOT to step on it at all coz i'm sure it would break

Hmm, my server at work has twin xeons at 3.2 and my mac has twin xeons at 2.6. Wonder if they would nitice if I replaced our server with an amd barton xp2500 @ 1.8

Most likely, you;d have to snap a few pins off so you'd have to be damned careful
