Im trying to fix a friends pc

Formatted the pc and get half way through copying the files and it says it cant find a file and then blue screens.

I no the disk is fine as i use it all the time.

Any ideas

iv tryed

XP home and XP pro with the same problem

Can you not skip the file ? Whenever I install xp it says something about a missing file i always skip it and she works fine...

Get a memtest boot cd and get the ram tested.
