Right,

I've just bought a domain name, registered on 1and1 (Beginner Package) with 250mb storage.

So what do I need to start a forum?

Cheers,
Lee.

where do i start.

Does you hosting have database facilities? if so what kind Access Mysql or SQL

Find out which it runs as you will then need to find a forum which runs with that type of database.

www.hotscripts.com is a good place to start looking but the chances are you will have to pay for a forum.

Right, I've now upgraded to Business, and that allows me 2MySQL databases etc.

So I should be able to run phpBB3 on MySQL.

vb forums are much better than phbb i reckon.

Have a look at www.djxs.co.uk/vbstuff

Download - vBulletin.v3.7.1.incl.KeyGen.PHP.NULL-DGT.zip

That is the latest release of the vb forums, there also hacks etc there as well you can add tp the site :2t:
