I keep getting invites to facebook, and sorry for not being 'hip' but wtf is it anyway?

I won't join facebook as employers are now using it to search for references when you apply for jobs. Becoming a much larger thing doing a search in google or specific web trawl databases for people who apply for jobs and potentially missing a job because they think you won't fit because of something you've posted on facebook or the like.

I am in face book, I checked out Ogame groups on it I found two. One of the groups had a topic "best fleet" their was a kid claiming that he had a small fleet with SCs. LCs, LF and a deathstar.

Other members in the group questioned him about his fleet being so small and why he had no BSs in his fleet etc.

Later on he asked how he could get Gravition Technology.

My worry is we will not be able to control who and what other none members can see and enter their comments in our group.

Although, I am in facebook I just surf it

I don't blog in it, because I have seen HRs and Security in companies I worked in checking them. I know of several members of staff who lost there jobs with selling stuff on Ebay when they had bought items from the store they worked in using their discount cards and bloging about what happening in store.
