My girlfriend has been after a new car for ages being as her high mileage seat leon is starting to run into problems.
Anyway, she's always fancied an MGF or TF, so after quite a serious amount of investigation into the headgasket problems these cars have, we finally settled on one.

Colour is charcoal grey, very nice colour indeed, a sort of black with a silver flake, comes with the hard top which is worth about £400, new goodyear eagle F1's, new engine 1000 miles ago after the previous engine lost its headgasket and warped the block in the process.
The new engine has done 40k and is from a 2000 mgf which has dramatically reduced rates of HGF. Got VVC too.

New cooling system too, MGF trophy throttle body, 145bhp

All for the princely sum of £3100.

Not bad for a relatively low mileage 9 year old sportscar. :)

Yep, ally block and head.
One of the only reasons why K-series engines are so popular, they weigh very little.
Doesn't have much else going for it really.

As for being my kinda thing, it's not really. I hinted and pushed for an mx-5, just years ahead of the mgf, but she didn't care about performance or reliability, all she cared about was looks, and being a girl, the mgf appeals more than the mx-5 which i can understand.
Still, i like it :)

Looks nice. Just make sure the gear cables are in good nick. Last thing you want is a snapped cable! ;)

Oh and the coolant pipes, HG, headertank cap, ball joints, wheel bearings, rear brake calipers, hood, stearing rack, front and rear lights. Appart from that there fun cars :)

I dont blame them.
Is it factory fit turbo? Quite rare

The MG suffered a broken gear selector cable last night if you're wondering what happened to it. :(

Pig of a job to do.
