Just found this great little browser that seems to run really well on low spec Windows systems. I'm currently testing it on an old TC1000 tablet that I dug out of my stuff this morning. If you have ever used a TC1000 recently you'll know that with its 1GHz Transmeta CPU this is not a piece of kit that is going to do anything quickly on the 'net, or anywhere for that matter. But, this Crazy Browser is making the 'net the fastest thing happening on this dinosaur.

It's based on IE but with all the goop spooned out and replaced with some interesting features. It may never become your main browser, but having a foot print of 1.2 MB, and being as nippy as anything, I'm sure it will make some kind of entry onto the Browser field.

TC1000's were awesome bits of kit I had one on demo for a customer back in the day, and Apple invented the tablet

Exactly!

I did some Googling to find out what people were doing with their old TC1000's. If you check out YouTube vid's for the TC1000 you will see people (kids?) saying things like, "That thing is 10 years older than the iPad!"

Battery life on mine is about 45 minutes, so it's done well for its age. Definitely kit ahead of its time, but that was Compaq for you. :)

I loved the one I had, only had it for a week but the geek appeal was huge, only thing thats had the same sort of effect for me is the Surface Pro that I'm using now, ditched my desktop at work totally and just have the Pro with a dock and its sweet, let down by weight and only having 4Gb RAM but other than that its a sweet bit of kit, Pro2 or Pro+ or whatever they end up calling the next one is on my want list and its not even been announced yet
