Not that my current isn't quick enough but proposed upgrade is

Intel i7 IB 3770
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H
16GB (4x4GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Jet Black, PC3-12800 (1600)
<a href="http://www.technic3d.com/news/images/Ne ... t60-03.jpg" target="_blank">Lian Li T60R</a>
4x 128GB Samsung 830 Series SSD in raid 0 - 512GB SSD baby!
EK-Supremacy CPU Waterblock
various new water cooling things.

first parts arrived today, clipped em all together - waterblock isn't going on yet as i need parts from current set up so i'm going to run it with air for the time being. Install windows etc then it's ready to go when i get it.

Nice spec there Smoop. Can't go wrong with ssd's and the water-cooled ivy bridge should easily hit towards 5ghz with minor tweaks!! I have only got a "modest" 4.2 GHz on my air-cooled SB 2600k...

SB clock better than the IB ones, once you start going above stock with the IB's they get real hot, good old cost cutting from Intel there..

Lol a small spending spree!

I'd be interested in your review of the nexus when you get it

Smoop can I be so bold to ask how much a rig like that costs? And is the water cooling any good. When I say good I mean compared to the price of air cooling is the temps and sounds and extra hassle worth it? If I were to ever do water cooling it would probably be for the silence but the fans on these rads these days seem fffin massive ie. loud.

Trig Im now going to the car section to find a pic of this beast :)

SSDs: £80 each
SSD caddy: £35
i7 3770: £235.40
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H: £153.32
16GB Corsair DDR3 Vengeance: £80
EK-Supremacy: £53
mad lian li case: £90

All the other water cooling bits are various prices but i think all in all, £500 for a full, custom set up. GPU waterblocks are about 80-90, cpu 50, reservoir/pump 60, fluid is about a tenner a litre, radiator was 80

I did it because i could, quieter and to cool a 4.4ghz nehalem with HT on.
