Anyone else using Virgin?
I have one of there little wifi router/cable modem hubs. Note not the "super hub".
I have basically dmz'd it to my Linksys WRT54GL router and disabled any firewall things that it does. This means my hub acts more as a modem and my Linksys is back to its normal function of firewall/wifi router.
I this as I found the wifi signal from the hub to be poor. Plus it meant I could have the Linksys more central in the house and not stuck to the wall where the virgin cable is.
Now I think its a less than perfect setup and I want to change it because now that I have a ok'ish wifi network happening I have now ressurected two dinosaurs which are sat next to the hub. This means I can plug them in there for internet but leaving them in the wild with no firewall protection. Any ideas of how to make a better solution with what I have?
I have available to me...
Virgin 4 port wifi router/modem
Linksys WRT54GL 4port wifi router (running Tomato firmware)
Old 4 port hub
Netgear RP614 4port 10/100 switch
Netgear RT314 4port 10/100 switch

Which needs to service..
3 wifi laptops
3 PC's
Epson sx425w wifi printer
along with many phones :)

What ya think?

Whats your setup?
