Right here's what I need

I have 3 pc's at home, 2 upstairs in my office/gaming room and one downstairs in the lounge which I consider to be my daughters machine as I put all of her games on it etc.

The machine downstairs was built from old stuff I had and has been fine up til now.

Spec
Abit NF7-S main board
Athlon XP 3000+ 2.16ghz
2gb Corsair pc3200 Ram
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb AGP Gfx

The problem is that one or two of the most recent games that i've tried to install on it won't work because its not up to it. I'm not sure if its the gfx or the cpu.
However in the past few days the gfx has been playing up and I get 1" wide vertical lines down the screen before it eventually becomes unusable. This is just with normal use and not whilst gaming.

So i've decided its time to upgrade it.

Now my "2nd" pc upstairs is the sort of spec im looking for as I'm not gonna build her a high end gaming rig to play barbie games on

My "2nd" rig upstairs is

Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 main board
Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4ghz
2gb Geil pc6400 DDR2 Ram
MSI 7900GTO 512mb PCI-E Gfx

This is the sort of spec i'm looking for but with new parts as these arent really available anymore.

Also has to be as cheap as possible

Eagle, if you want a cheap PC, it will more than likely be something Dell, as building your own machine is expensive these days, i just did an upgrade with 80% 2nd hand parts and it was still about £800 spent and thats with an E8500 cpu

http://www.dmxdimension.com/ is a good site as they list most Dell machines

You can get a Vostro 420 with a 19" TFT, Vista Home Premium and E8400 for £482 delivered, you cant even build it for that

I have sitting on the landing my daughters old pc which wont boot. I think it's the board. The fans spin for a second then stop.

It is the same motherboard as yours, my old barton chip, a gig or ram and the same GFX card as yours. If you want to replace the GFX card you can try this one.

Some of the newer games may need more than direct x 9 which I think the 9800 pro only does.
