I remember there used to be a URL where you could see the current map/players etc.

I play CS on my WinXP installation on my Apple laptop, so often want to see if anyone is playing before rebooting into Windoze, so is there any way?

<a href="http://www.xfire.com/" target="_blank">http://www.xfire.com/</a>

download that and register a username .

Then add me "gsveagle" and you'll be able to see my status as well as anyone in my friends list or friends of friends.

Then you can add as many as you want.

It will show you who's online and will also show you any servers you've recently played on whilst x-fire is active.

Here you can view the current status of the server

Is there a Macintosh or Linux version of Xfire?
No. While we do want to support gamers regardless of operating system, right now we're focusing on working out the features and development of XFire on Windows based systems. This makes the development cycle much faster, and then can be ported over to other operating systems when necessary.

Alternatively you can go here

<a href="http://hosting.multiplay.co.uk/" target="_blank">http://hosting.multiplay.co.uk/</a>

In the left hand pane scroll down to the server list and select CS Source

Then scroll down to the GSV Server and click the + sign to expand it and see whats happening

We used to use HLSW back in the old days

You could see your friends on it and we used it for rcon as well but recently x-fire seems to be the more favoured tool.
