Expensive Insurance
Moderator: Trig
well been doing quotes for a few months as my insurance is due for renewal at the end of this month, so I gave the company that came out on top of the list on easy quote a ring. I wanted "drive other cars cover" which when your 'young' is a little awkward and costs more but it gives me more flexibility and saves me paying dad to be on an extra policy as my backup car
anyway long story short got just over £150 knocked off my best (read: cheapest overall quote),
she asked if I wanted to take the cover "YES, my card number is".
So today was expensive but a pleasent suprise as i'd budgeted for a lot more. Now what to spend the spare money on........... oh wait 12 months tax

We had £1,900 knocked off our insurance as my dad just told the bloke down the phone if he didn't sort out a better quote we'd be moving brokers, and that the insurance was less needed now.
Think the saving went to help to buy a nice Merc E270CDI Avantgarde Should manage to make a nice £1,500 outa selling it aswell

Nah I think this way is more financially sound for us both. Its a lot of money for me to be on his policy and I rarely use his car if anything just moving it to get mine off the drive when i'm home on a weekend The reason I need drive other cars is just a backup/precaution (thats not been needed so far in a year) but mainly so i'm covered to rag the nackers off my m8s cars...... eh f0x
roll on the company car scheme is all I can say as i'm sick of shelling out money
On that thread of CC's am I right in assuming my personal NCB is frozen/kept if I ever opt out of the scheme or want a second motor (for example), or does it expire after X amount of months/years ?
I did ask at work but they all shrugged their shoulders and said we don't care because they are lifetime company car / vehicle people and rightly don't give a flying fluff as long as they don't have to pay for anything its business as usual supping tea and reading the paper
