bit dissappointed in the lack of classes and kit.

you get sniper, assault with firstaid kits, support with ammo packs, or engineer.

Not much in the way of nades, mines explosives etc. even though explosives are mentioned in the tutorial bit....

like the flying things, blew an APC up thinking they would float like BF2 ones.

Other than that, the vehicles are snazzy, but it's all a bit like a mod to BF2 rather than a different game.

Yep I had the same problem... I am strongly suspecting that is being saved for the full game... did you do the veteran thing?

Stocky, know exactly what you mean, that's why I never bothered with Halo tbh. :th:

Jase, I know, no radio... :( I've been tinkering with the idea of reinstalling BF:V... hmm wonder if there are still any servers out there running it...

Bob, I'm utterly convinced that this demo demonstrates the Occam's Razor principle gone mad... they've deliberately cut it right down just to give the briefest of tasters... after all, even what you're playing now was just over a Gig download. If you go to the kit selection area, you will find an option to customize your selection beyond that... there is definitely more to it than what is shown in the demo. Even the spiel from EA on BF2142 says that there is loads more kit in BF2142 than in BF2.

Nelly, dunno... I use Kerio... have you tried removing all entries for the demo in you FW and then allowing it to go through the assigning of access again, just in case there is something you haven't fully permitted for some reason?

Hammer, been there, done that, got the T-Shirt... and now using it for damp dusting... ;)

I suppose BF2 and BF2142 for many will mean a fork in the road rather than a natural progression. If you get to play the retail on someone elses PC get a taste for it that way, or if the Battlefield forum is around long enough then you will get a gist of how things are progressing with it through here. :)

I thought the Veteran thing was AAO, not BF2??

So i just create another profile to play the demo.... I guess i could do that...

EA/DICE is aware of disconnect issues with the newly released Battlefield 2142 demo, and is searching for solutions. They also mention that the demo was such a svelte 1106 MB download due to the exclusion of 33 MB worth of DirectX installers, so a DX installation is necessary for anyone who doesn't have it yet.

Yeah, I know what you mean... whether you like to play defensively or aggressively... it's always a frantic game.

I gave it a go, not really got into BF:2, this seems just more of the same really, i couldn't log into my old account and couldn't register another username similar to mine.

Runs very well, but it's not BF:V

May have to dig out vietnam and patch it all up.
