Hi all,

Any of you android based chaps using remote desktop ? over 3g, not wireless. This is for phone to PC.

Theres a few kicking around with a lot of downloads/reviews.... tried TeamViewer, which at first glance appears 'ok', just questioning practicality and security etc.

Thoughts or experiences please

I use GPP Remote Viewer.... Not that concerned about security as never really thought about it.

It uses a small agent/server on the laptop to allow access and you have to sign in with a password on the phone. I guess technically, someone from the people that created the app could access it but why would they?

Thanks for reply.

Sorry i'm a bit garbled on my first post m8.
At the moment it generates a user id and pass, i'm unclear whether this is like for example a token that will expire with time.... or I can just keep using the same credentials forever. If thats a bit clearer ?

Going to install it now I think, used the run .exe twice now and it seems ok....

Edit: Should have just installed it rather than temporary running, you get permanent name and pass, remote rebooted all ok. Yey!

Whilst we're on the subject of android, does anyone use any useful apps they care to recommend ?

+1 on team viewer. I have added 3 of my machines to it and seems to work pretty well...

Just out of curiosity, what do you use teamviewer for via your phone?

Its handy for checking downloads and remotely rebooting etc. Going to install on my folks laptop, as to be fair they struggle with the bbc website never mind opening and rotating pics of the kids and then shutting down.
