Also a bit in here about ATi issues in crossfire mode for those running more than one card...

So what to go for, Sapphire 6950 @ £200 or the Sapphire 6970 @ £288
I know the 7 series is due out Q1 next year, but that could be towards the end of Q1

i got a 6950
But i have unlocked the shaders to 6970 and overclocked it a bit (880mhz core and 1325mhz memory)
6970 deafault clocks are 880mhz core and 1375 on the memory.
to go higher i have to use saphire trixx to increase the volts and that seems to cause bf3 to crash out.
shader count for the 9650 is 1408 and 1536 for the 6970
its easy enough to unlock them, plenty of advice on the net, but if you buy one with the intention of
unlocking it be aware that some will not unlock not matter what has been done to them.

Hmm i think the 6970 is the way to go, being a one off purchase for quite some time
