Looking to get a new rig.... CBA building one myself but still want some choice of parts so have found somewhere called computerplanet.co.uk and spe'd the following -

Intel i7's seem WAYYY pricey.... Any thoughts on this setup ?? Price seem fair ??

I have been away from pc tech for ages so no idea whats good or bad these days :/

I've not gone thru the prices but that seems expensive to me...

I'll go thru my build sheet later when I get back to the office and see whats what..

Seems expensive and old, also OCZ power supplies are crap

don't think i'd bother with SLI, just get one better gfx card

id look at a good single card and a 20" widescreen, got a max budget?

That is aboutmy max budget TBH... i didnt realise that stuff was old... Going to be used for gaming

Amd have moved onto the 790 chipset and a new socket (old socket is fine though for now).
The vid card is previous gen, sli is a waste of money when a nvidia 260 or ati 4870 will do a better job.
250gb hard drive, what are you thinking?
Onboard sound needs cpu cycles, consider anything else.


Things to consider if you after a gaming rig.

If you wanna spend a bit more on drives then do a 3 drive system like I have.
OS on a raptor
game install on a seperate drive
swap/temp files on 3rd drive.
