Online Photos

I'm off to South Africa soon. Some of you will remember why I have ties down there. First return visit since 2002.

Anyway, I want to be able to store photos online as we go. It's to make sure we've kept copies and to ensure I don't run out of memory cards.

Anyone recommend an online service? I'm particularly keen on ease of use as I'll just be plugging my camera into whatever IT the assorted hotels will have whilst we are touring round. I'm trying to avoid taking my lap top, one less thing to carry. One less thing to lose.

Theres one called "picasa" which is part of google.

Its free to use if you have a gmail or googlemail account.

If you dont have one and you need one let me know, i'll send you an invite.

Picasa looks good, I've set it up here on my desktop.

I was looking more for something that I could just drag and drop from the camera into a web space. Picasa needs some software to be installed and I may not be able to do that in hotels/web cafes.

Any more suggestions?

I dont think any will enable you to go direct from camera to webspace as ultimately you will have to connect through a computer.

Most hotels only provide chargeable web access, not the hardware. (ie: you would connect using your laptop)

Could also make a application where you upload pics to if u cant get ftp access pm me if ur intrested mate

Sounds awesome, remember though, it needs to be as simple as a big bag full of very simple things so that I can understand it.
