Writing this on the lappy ATM as having probs getting my PC to boot.

The MB is getting power as the green LED is lit inside. I press the power button and I get nothing :(

Tried power lead in diff socket and same problem. I dont get ANYTHING powering up save for the LED thats on the MB itself which is always on when PC has power.

Dont have another PSU to try :(

Ideas ??

Only thing I am trying is possibly the power swith is goosed ?? Not sure how to bypass it tho :(

Pull the PSU cable out of the back for a few minutes.
Then swap the power and reset buttons over..

Remove all unnecessary items for a POST, e.g. HDD, CD, Sound card...

Power supply could be blown.
Memory might be duff, reseat it, if you have 2 sticks pull one then the other.
CPU might be screwed, doubtful as the fans usually spin if this is the case.

Removed everything apart from CPU and still nothing....

It did this the other night and I switched the PSU off, waited then turned on and it was fine..... Then there was a USB prob (WLAN adaptor didnt work at first till I replugged in)

Hope its not the MB as its a good one (Abit A8-N SLi Premium) :(

Put mem and everything back and reset CMOS - still nothing

I know the MB is getting power as it has a green LED on it to tell you this and its lit up....

No idea :(

I have a spare PSU here but its the old style ATX connector on it (smaller one) <_<

Will try and get one from the IT dept at work tomorrow for testing.

Its a nice PSU I have as well (Antec NeoPower 430) :(

could be either psu or mobo. I've had same problem twice on friends machines one was the mobo the other was psu. :S

And the mobo is only a good one if its working pal same goes for psu :)
