Yo jase rite first things first
You need to find out what version of the xbox you hav any decent xbox website should have the program on it to tell you what version you have.
try here <a href="http://xbox-scene.com/" target="_blank">http://xbox-scene.com/</a>
Next...
You then need to find and buy a chip i suggest the Xecuter range depending on ur chip, also get the solider free kit called NoSolider (less chance of braking it)
I havt fitted a chip but apperatly its easy.
Once youv done that u need to find the software on the net to flash the chip this can take a while to find but once found its a dead simple job to do.
Next add your new hard disk into the xbox where standard xbox hd was and then you need to find the software on the net to format that into xbox standard and then your done. Finding the software is far the hardest part as the chip does not come with any software.
Xbox scene has some very good read ups tips and advice on how to mod your xbox.
good luck Jase

My mate.. who's normally a bit of a whiz with Pcs and soldering irons and stuff.. fkd his xbox up chipping it.... just to warn you. And he ended up getting one pre chipped for an extra 15 quid or something.. Damn wish I could remember the website of the guy that did it... Ive just been googling but cant find it atm.. Lan tec Ian tech... something...
anyhow.. The ways its set up as part of the overall house network / media centre / games etc etc.. is awesome.. and totally worth it imo if you go down this route.

you are indeed correct, any modified xbox 360 will be blocked from xbox live.Class-- wrote: did i not read some where this week that xbox live doesnt work with chipped xbox's now?

Not entirely true, the 360's with modified firmwares on the drive are not detected or blocked as of yet. I can't speak for the 'chipped' 360's, but as there is no homebrew software out yet I can't see any reason for a chip.Madman045 wrote: you are indeed correct, any modified xbox 360 will be blocked from xbox live.
