Everything's going well at the moment Andrew , after a few scary moments when Shaun developed sepsis and chemo having no effect on the Leukemia he suddenly turned a corner and we ended up coming home :2t: Been at home nearly six weeks now with only the odd trip back for a blood transfusion and a slight infection . We are just marking time at the moment until the bone marrow transplant is sorted and keeping everything crossed that Shaun doesn't contract an infection .

Back at clinic yesterday and have been told that a tissue match has been made , Shaun is having a transplant from cord stem cells , this basically means that in a fridge somewhere is a placenta with Shauns name on it so no donor preperation and less chance of major complications after the transpant . No firm date as of yet but it will be the end of September so back into hospital mid September .

Pleased its going in the right direction for the little guy, we're all routing for him :gsv:

Kids are so resilient and bounce back so well, my gaffer had two in the hospital at same time recently one of which was very ill, very worrying when they cant talk back and tell you, must be so hard as a parent. I cannot even imagine!

Not been on for quite awhile :( Unfortunately Shaun died in June of this year , his cancer relapsed in June of 2016 and Shaun ended up in ICU and had to be resuscitated on 5 occasions and we where told to prepare for the worse but Shaun fortunately pulled through ,he then developed pneumonia and after another 9 days in ICU they took him of the ventilator and he promptly developed a bleed on the lungs cue doctor telling us to prepare for the worse again :( Shaun being Shaun decided this wasn't his time and after a shaky 3 days they again took him off the ventilator and a couple hours later he was eating a McDonald's happy meal :2t:

We then spent the next six months fighting of various infections and sepsis trying to get Shaun ready for a stem cell transplant in December 2016 which took place on the 23 of December and appeared to go very well apart from a serious case of GVH that eventually cleared up , we where back home at the end of February and everything appeared to be going extremely well but in the middle of June this year he suddenly became extremely weak and developed severe back and leg pains, after a quick blood screening we were given the news no parent wants to hear, that the Leukemia had returned and that their was now nothing more that could be done apart from pain relief and to make him comfortable .

Shaun died 13 days later in the Sick Childrens Hospital Edinburgh , we had taken him to see the premiere of Cars 3 at the Edinburgh Film Festival but unfortunately whilst appearing well at the Leeds general infirmary on the Saturday morning,he developed a high temperature on the train journey and had to go straight to hospital on arrival in Edinburgh , he was diagnosed with sepsis and pneumonia and was quickly sent up to the High Dependency Unit where everything possible was done to get him well enough to try to get him home, with Leeds General Infirmary even arranging a Sea King helicopter to transport him that caused some consternation when it landed in the local park but it was not to be and Shaun passed away on Sunday the 25 June with myself and Tina Shauns mum at his side 20 minutes after the helicopter arrived .

As a postscript Shaun did get to see Cars 3 as the staff at the Edinburgh Film Festival and the producers of Cars 3 with the help of Pixar Animations moved heaven and earth to get a copy of the film for Shaun to watch that involved waking the head of the studio up in Los Angeles in the early hours to arrange an upload of the film for download to take to the hospital :th:

Thinking of you guys.
So glad that you were able to do as much as you could, to make life as normal as possible.
Cant imagine that the emotional roller coaster is any easier now.
