Which colour is best to wear in this heat? Black or White, dark or light? It seems that it makes no difference at all according to a study discussed in <a href="http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v2 ... 373a0.html" target="_blank">'Nature'.</a>
Whatever the colour, (and psychosomatics doesn't count) the best thing to wear is loose fitting clothing.
Black Or White?

6' 3", ~46" chest, ~38" Waist... what's that in girl sizes?D3s3rt_F0x wrote: Without looking I already typed out what that study found, basically white clothes reflect heat better, where as darker clothes radiate the heat away better. What does make a difference is how loose the clothing is.
Basically looser the better, so get your summer dress on.

They're saying that it makes no difference. Seems they grabbed a Bedouin while he was doing whatever Bedouin do in the desert, and did this test on him.Dangerous Bob wrote: so that's white stuff if you're in the sun, and black if you're in the shade.....
Quote from Nature magazine:
"We report here that the amount of heat gained by a Bedouin exposed to the hot desert is the same whether he wears a black or a white robe. The additional heat absorbed by the black robe was lost before it reached the skin."
