Oi Bobbilicious what's this all about trashin my arguments :D we'll as I see it the moral of the story still stands :D :P
Ok ok here's another one for ya's. Our nuclear weapons were only armed by turning a lock that was basically a bicycle lock but the americans and russians had very elaborate systems in place so no one person could set the devices.
Not exactly a great thing but for me it shows that we give credit to people and there intelligence instead of nanning them and taking all resposibilities awaay from them :) I'm going slightly off topic now :D
Also I loved how in the cold war the prime minister needed to give the go ahead to launching the missiles but there was no such things as mobile phones. So they made him join the AA so if he was in the car he could stop at a AA road side phone and connect to the appropriate people :D brilliant! Can't remember where I heard that one. Was it top gear? Lol

Nothing beats Russian food though, nothing. If you've never tried any then visit a Russian restaurant. Don't try online recipes until you have tried the food made by someone who knows how to make it first. If you go to a restaurant first you will taste what it should taste like, and then try to match it with your efforts at home.

Bliss, sheer bliss. :)

I spent 4 months working on a russian tug once.
Wouldn't say I loved the cooking, but it kept me 'regular'.....

Funnily enough we thought it had to be an old spy vessel. Had a hidden radio room in the funnel, with all the kit still in it. Didn't half chuck out some power.
Had to ban the sparky using it when we were working because it upset all our kit....

Wow... I love these kinda stories... Is it permanently harboured in the UK somewhere? Boats and boating fascinate me - especially the older stuff.
