Weather

Found this site, seems quite good for weather reports. Just Google: forecast.io I was also reading about a book called "The Old Farmers Almanac" which was very heavily depended on by farmers and country folk alike in times past, but still highly regarded today. It's said to be very accurat...

Mead

I've heard of people home brewing, etc, and just thought it too much work. But I can't believe what great results you can get, especially for the kind of drinks that aren't so easy to get hold of, such as Mead. What's more is that it's really, really easy to make. Mead is an awesome drink, and it's ...

Re: Eagle of another kind

The Eagle Nebula made me fall in love with astronomy. Get a decent enough telescope and it's literally mind blowing.

Yeah, I've got to get Elite.

Re: Any of you still play it?

Not played anything online for a little while... but there are loads of angry gamers out there, very temperamental. I don't know why they choose to vent in-game because it can't be any fun, and I can't imagine how they feel afterwards or treat their own family. I imagine it's mostly school kids and ...

Eagle of another kind

The Eagle Nebula, recent photo from the Hubble ST after an upgrade. Simply astounding level of detail. Of course, this is what it looked like 6000 or so years ago. A Supernova has likely wiped these out now.

Re: Elite Dangerous

Looks amazing, but also heavy on the spec's... not that this is a completely bad thing. If I'd have been able to run it on the current spec of my system I think I'd have doubted its quality. Also, a game with this kinda environment and plot simply can't be a bunch of wireframe graphics in this day a...

Re: Formula E

I really liked the idea of the C5 at the time, but like the majority I gave to much attention to media scare stories. There was a new media trend in the eighties that possibly took the majority of people too long to see through. The media was generally cynical about everything. The idea, im'h'o, was...

Formula E

Was channel hopping today and noticed how different the "Formula One" cars looked. Mentioned this to the missus and she kindly explained to me that it wasn't Formula One, but Formula E. So, I asked what Formula E was and she told me they were Electric Cars. I'm amazed that electric cars ha...

Re: Final Stand

I've not had my desktop on in months tbh... :D Would I be okay to use a version that may not be from ...

Google & Facebook Influence

Google and Facebook, too big? Too much influence over the 'net?

This was a very interesting article...

IL2 has always sounded interesting, but I never got around to playing it. Is it fussy about system specs?

Re: A bumpy year

There's an old gent near us who used to be involved in races were they would have to complete the course within a certain time frame. But, if they would have raced, or completed the course too quickly they would be penalised. So, from what I could work out they would have to hold to an average speed...
