Stargate Worlds

Is Stargate Worlds an active game online, or just offline? Or, dead in the water? Speaking of the TV series, enjoyed them all except some of the later episodes of SG1 when they started running out of ideas and they took it in turn to be dead, invisible, etc. Personal opinion, Stargate Universe had t...

Gum 29

Gum 29, a strange name for a Nebula, but what an awesome new video from NASA and the Hubble Space Telescope team.

Loads more on the Hubble site.

Way to Go Adblock Plus

Thought this was a nice story about Adblock Plus being challenged over the blocking of some German Newspapers Ad's. They claimed that Adblock Plus infringed on the freedom of the Press and wanted to force Adblock Plus to cease blocking their Ad's. The story has a happy ending... :) http://www.bbc.co...

Atari 2600 Madness

I was watching a program about the demise of Atari, etc, and there was a lot as to whether the failure of the cartridge "ET" was the cause of it. They decided "ET" wasn't to blame, despite being a duff game. Anyway, I never got the ET bug, and so never got the game. Wanting to gi...

When I began watching this I thought I'd a good idea what to expect... but this really is amazing. That's one amazing creature!

Interstellar

Just watched Interstellar, quite a good film. There's been a spate of good Scifi's over the last year or two. You have any favourites over the last ten years? For me, I think Terminator Salvation has been about the best. Watching Gravity tonight.

Missing Wife

Husband: I lost my wife. She went shopping & still hasn't arrived home yet. Inspector: What is her height? Husband: I never noticed. Inspector: Slim or healthy? Husband: Not slim, can be healthy. Inspector: Colour of eyes? Husband: Never noticed. Inspector: Colour of hair? Husband: Changes accor...

Doesn't make it right, and someone knowing exactly what really happened will always be happy to correct someone trying to rewrite history.

There are loads of home-grown businesses out there.

MS & IE

Thought it was amusing the way Microsoft are talking about ditching Internet Explorer. They make out that it was their invention. We likely all remember Bill Gates opinion of the Internet all those years ago, basically saying that it was going to fizzle out. Well, when the 'net took its grip on the ...

C5 on eBay

Thought this was a great price for a Sinclair C5. For the condition he's describing it to be in, I'd have thought he could have asked at least a few grand for it. After all, it's not just any electric "car". http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sinclair-C5-Electric-Car-80s-Retro-/251853496960?pt=LH_D...

Cardboard VR Headset

Well, this looks interesting. Seems Google developed a VR Headset that requires only some cardboard and your mobile phone. Something to occupy the grandchildren with over the weekend! Just wish they would hurry up with Oculus Rift... I'd like to say, "...and here's one I made earlier..." b...

Windows 10 is gonna be free for Windows 7 & 8. http://www.pcworld.com/article/2873214/windows-10-will-be-a-free-upgrade-for-windows-7-and-8-users.html However, it's possible there will be some kind of Hardware check to confirm compatibility. This makes sense, but could rule out any attempt insta...

Yeah, with you on that. I couldn't fly straight because of its grip on my left arm, y'know, that head shaking thing they do once they get a good grip. Really annoying. :)

Should be up and running with this by the weekend... :gsv:
