Re: JellyFin server
Should have bought one in the last week or so chap, it was sub £500 for the one I have, with the Ace Dryer/Colour changer module.

Re: JellyFin server
You got a passive heatsink in there?
With the size of that case, and the power you are going to realistically use, I'd be looking at going as close to fanless as possible, depending on where the machines physically going to sit, just give it some low rpm noctuas and some 3d printed ducting to direct ...

Re: JellyFin server
Thats pretty much the same CPU wise as the Optiplex you were looking at the other day tbh, but with it being a server you have more space for toys inside..

Re: JellyFin server
3.5's chap, just bought another 8Tb Red+, even though I'm on iTX the NR200 allows me to fit plenty of drives in it, if I were on 2.5's then I could fit more in if I really wanted, not sure the performance of laptop drives would create an issue or not.
Drive layout as of tomorrow will be.

Re: JellyFin server
I use WD, Reds or Red+ specifically, but depends what you can get on deals etc.
Try looking at a single WD drive, then once you have placed your first they'll send you a discount code for your next order, at which point order the other 2 drives to give you 3..

Re: JellyFin server
Any sort of array, or just disks with stuff on?
DC++ is a PITA, if you don't have the ports setup properly.

Re: JellyFin server
I did, you are right
How much data do you have, and, are you ripping physical media you have, or collating stuff from all over, I'd rather have 2 physical disks so worse case you're only gonna lose half your stuff..

Re: JellyFin server
Ouch...
Shame you aren't closer, I've just upgraded my 'server' into an iTX case from an older AM4 5700G based system in an mATX Node304 case, CPU went to another friend but I've got a load of old smaller spinners and enough bits to build it back up, just needs the CPU...
As I said on FaceAche ...

Re: JellyFin server
I still prefer spinners for storage tbh, cheaper, and when they start to die, you get a warning, where an SSD will just shit itself and then you're screwed..
What platform were you running on, and why, and what hardware?
